Art In The Dancehall Pics
I’ve posted about the ART IN THE DANCEHALL exhibition a few times now, and I actually made it over to Subliminal Projects to check out the opening. It was great. So nice to see dancehall-related content in a well-respected gallery space here in LA. Shimmy Shimmy and Al Fingers have done an amazing job curating this and getting it seen. Here are a couple of pics.
Downtown Top Incense
Some Selector gear is available as part of the Nepenthes Hells Kitchen Music Society collaboration with Deadly Dragon Sound. You’ll also see there are some very special limited edition collaborations available, including these Selector x Deadly Dragon Sound x Sierra Hotel incense packs, only at the Nepenthes store.

Whagwan? Tomorrow’s Thursday, so my friends at New York’s most-respected Deadly Dragon Sound are hosting the Reggae Revive Session at Happy Ending in Chinatown again. Roots, rocksteady, and rub-a-dub in a strictly vinyl fashion. This week’s special guest is Neil Nice, and the whole night is a tribute to the one Dennis Brown, the “Crown Prince of Reggae” whose birthday was on February 1st, 1957.
Art In The Dancehall
Shimmy Shimmy and Al Fingers have curated a collection of dancehall-related artwork called Art In The Dancehall. Having shown at two venues in the UK, I’m glad to say the collection has now made its way to LA, and will be on display at the great Subliminal Projects space as of Saturday, February 2nd.
DTR Meets Sadiki
This week’s installment of the Deadly Dragon Sound wednesday night event Downtown Top Ranking also serves as a launch party for singer/producer Sadiki, launching his new LP, Jah Is The Only King.
